The Importance of Connectivity

Different people derive value from various things. Some people require human connection to thrive continually. At the other end of the spectrum, though, some tend to feel human connectivity as unnecessary and even painful in some cases. Putting aside the disconsolate end of the scale, connectivity is quite crucial in our modern world. This ever-evolving field never ceases to amaze the world through various perplexing technological advances. Communication is becoming one of the most critical aspects of today’s world. We live in a global world where technology is vital for human interaction in all aspects of the world. Following modern trends, it could be easily assumed that we are going towards a fully digital world. Everything is impossible without communication, especially during a Covid-19 pandemic; the world has never relied on connectivity as much as it does now. People expect to have availability of the service 24/7. The global world allows having call centers worldwide as long as there is language compatibility and some standards to follow. For example, a traveler, who is using Expedia and needs urgent support when the flight is canceled, and they need to book a new one to onboard, calling a call center of Expedia may be answered by someone from India or the Philippines. However, they get the same level of service as if someone from the U.S did it.

Connectivity will have an exponential growth pattern since the rapid advance of technology allows it, and we are moving towards a world where connectivity will become majorly free. I believe that in the near future, we may be able to conduct communication entirely by sending our thoughts through a neural network directly into another person’s brain. Of course, we are currently far from such technology. Still, scientists are working hard on creating interfaces conducted on a brain-computer basis allowing for transmissions to be driven directly to a computer. We are also at the forefront of 5G. According to Deloitte Insights, “It offers greater speed, lower latency, and-importantly-the ability to connect massive numbers of sensors and smart devices within a network. How? By breaking technology constraints.” (Littman, 2016) This technology will enable connectivity to be conducted much more efficiently.

I use social media to communicate with others and mainstream programs that are significantly incorporated into our lives.
